The hotel is full of history and character and has lots of public spaces where guests can relax and enjoy the view from the windows. Our standard double room was very comfortable, and traditionally decorated with clan tartans and antique furniture. It was well equipped with everything we needed including a little fridge with fresh milk for tea and coffee. The bathroom was quite spacious with a shower over the bath. The hotel restaurant is excellent, serving tasty dishes made with fresh local ingredients. The staff were very friendly and helpful and carried our bags up the stairs to our room. It’s a lovely hotel with all the character you would expect from such an historic building set in a quiet, country location with guest parking on site.

From the moment you are driving down the long driveway you feel the essence of the property's history and elegance. The property sits on the loch overlooking the sun rise and sun set with the massive water out back. In the front are huge trees 400+ years old and well maintained grounds. They called this a house but this is a stately mini castle with canopy beds, luxurious sheets, towels, and quality of furniture. My group felt like Lords and ladies here! We dined for dinner and breakfast and the staff provided a timely and quality experience. Well done!

The property is beautiful, with an amazing view of the waters. It is quiet and serene to sit by the water. Breakfast and dinner was great. A couple of staff members (one woman in particular, and I am so sorry I don't remember your name) were very warm and welcoming. She arranged for the chef to prepare sticky toffee pudding for us because we loved it in Scotland. This particular staff was also very kind and helped us check in and carry our heavy suitcases up 2 flights of stairs (my husband has physical restrictions due to a neurologic condition).

We were in the Lovat suite, which is on the front of the house with a garden view. Very large with a king-sized canopy bed and a nice bathroom. Wonderfully creaky floors, which is just right for a very old house. We loved relaxing in the drawing room by the wood fire. The staff were all fantastic. The breakfasts were made to order and delicious. The grounds are maintained beautifully, and the location is great - only 10 minutes to Inverness. The water view is so lovely and the whole thing is perfectly romantic.

Fabulous breakfast, as it’s cooked to order remember to ask for your tea or coffee to be served at the same time as the breakfast is served otherwise it will be cold. Rooms comfortable and quite spacious, beds comfortable but pillows could be firmer, staff very pleasant and courteous, if you find it hard to walk ask for a room on the lower floors otherwise there are a lot of steps. If you are into fancy foods then there is a great dinner menu in the restaurant, if not the bar menu is also good.
